Last night was our first Chef’s Showcase and it went great!
The special set menu nights will be held on Tuesday throughout December, so make your bookings early!
The menus are generally up by the Saturday or Sunday before and consist of fresh, locally sourced produce, we get from our suppliers on the day and prepared into delicious, hearty European cuisine.

Exciting news – we’re now taking bookings for our special Melbourne Cup Garden Party!
Bookings can be made from 9:30am onwards and we have a special Melbourne Cup set menu and drinks list for the occasion. The set menu is priced at $45 per person, with coffee and tea included. Our special menu includes 4 courses: pastries, a breakfast board, club sandwiches and petit fours, and our drinks menu will include special Garden cocktails and wine specials! The menus are now available under the ‘Functions’ tab in our top menu – look for ‘Melbourne Cup Garden Party Menus’
We plan to set up a television inside the restaurant for a live broadcast at midday on the day, and will be running a sweepstakes with exciting prizes to be announced for the winners.
It’s shaping up to be a fun day, so make sure you book well ahead and join us on a day full of races, rustic food and good drinks!

It seems Australia is slowly catching up with Spring, and the days are getting longer and (mostly) sunnier. People are already getting into the swing of the warmer months – cider and white wines have been selling faster than hotcakes and people are looking for something lighter and more summery to enjoy along the cove.
To that end, the chefs have made some modifications to the dinner and dessert menus which are already in place – something lighter and less wintry. Feel free to head over to the new menus under the ‘Menus’ tab above and check them out.
Additionally, the bar team have made changes to the beer and wines menu to compliment the changes to the food menu. Exciting new international wines and beers with a slightly lighter palate to match the turning of the seasons. Some wonderful new Spanish additions to the wine list, as well as the famous Budějovický Budvar – the Czech lager. The wines and beers we’re getting not including in the new menu will still be available so long as the stock lasts – so if you have any favourites make sure to come by and snatch them up before they’re gone.

The chefs have been hard at work and updated the menu yet again, with a new chicken sandwich and Reuben beef sandwich. The online menus have been changed over, so feel free to take a look. They’ve been on the menu for a few days now, and have already been received well by our regulars!
There are also some minor changes to the drinks menu – we no longer have Pipsqueak on tap, but will be replacing it with a new beer of the month… More to be revealed soon.
And finally, just a friendly reminder that even though we don’t take bookings at breakfast, if you want to come down on the weekend and snap up the best tables for lunch or dinner, it’s always best to book ahead. The best tables always the first to go – like the waterside tables when it’s lovely and warm, and the inside tables when it’s wet and cold.

As I’m sure you’ve all noticed by now, the Winter is well and truly upon us. The days are getting cold and grey. In light of this, the chefs have made some modifications to the dinner menu. It’s packed to the borders with hot, hearty meals perfect for the cold nights.
We have an amazing Spanish-inspired thyme, confit orange and smoked paprika crusted chicken dish, big and warm braised lamb shanks, as well as a superb vegetarian tarte tartin, with sweet potato, confit onion and caramelised pear.
The dessert menu has also seen some modifications, with new toppings on our steamed chocolate pudding (including a sweet, thick mulled wine sauce) as well as a New Norcia nut cake and Pan Chocolatti as some new additions.
So check out the full menus under the ‘Menu’ tab in our main menu, or better yet come down and give them a try yourself; either in the warmth of our inside section, outside by the fire, or even grab a rug, brave the cold and sit right next to the river waterway.
